Our weather is a little strange this time of the year with a lingering Fall finally giving way to a mild Winter. This morning began as a cool humid day, but then a fog floated down -- one moment it's clear and the next foggy.

- Questa mattina il tempo era fresco e sembrata una bella giornata.
This morning began as a cool and beautiful day.
- Ma verso le 9:00 è scesa la nebbia.
At about 9:00 a.m the weather become foggy.
- Due giorni fa c'è stato un incidente a causa della nebbia.
Two days ago there was an accident in foggy weather.
- Una persona è morta nell'incidente.
One person died in the accident.
- E' stato un tragico evento.
It was a tragic situation.
- I conducenti devono stare attenti in caso di maltemp.
Drivers must be alert in bad weather.

Some tips to make the sentences more fluent in Italian:

Ma verso le 9:00 è scesa la nebbia (the fog is come down).
Due giorni fa c'è stato un incidente a causa della nebbia)
Una persona è morta nell'incidente.
E' stato un tragico / drammatico evento.
I conducenti devono "stare" attenti in caso di maltempo.
Il verbo ausiliare "stare" è usato spesso al posto del verbo "essere", soprattutto in frasi che esprimono il comportamento o lo stato d’animo d’una persona: «Stare attento», «Stare in ansia»
(The auxiliary verb "stare" is often used instead of the verb "essere", especially in phrases expressing a person's behavior or mood: "Be careful", "Be anxious")
