Salvator Mundi by Da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci’s painting Salvator Mundi lives on. Just amazing . . . the absolutely beautiful work by da Vinci sold for $450.3 million. Amazing for a painting over 500 years old. More amazing is the artist, Leonardo da Vinci. Let's see if I can write a few Italian sentences around this current news. (Italian grammar corrections are welcome.)

    On my first trip to Europe I saw the Mona Lisa painting at the Louvre museum.

    Hello ted
    If you like Leonardo da Vinci's works you must come to Italy and visit the Museum of Science and Technology and the Vinciano Last Supper in Milan, the "Leonardiana" Museum in Vigevano and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

    Alcune correzioni:

    Il dipinto di Leonardo da Vinci "Salvator Mundi" è stato venduto per $450,3 milioni.
    - meglio dire il quadro, o il dipinto
    - "fu Venduto" è passato remoto, si usa per fatti avvenuti e conclusi molto tempo fa, in questo caso si usa il passato prossimo, è stato venduto di recente (in novembre di
    quest'anno)

    L'acquirente è stato "il" principe... (serve l'articolo prima di principe)
    Oppure potrebbe scrivere:
    Il dipinto è stato acquistato dal principe... (forma passiva)

    Durante il mio primo viaggio in Europa ho visto il dipinto della Mona Lisa al Museo del Louvre.

      Hello, Mik. I appreciate your patience, and you are helping me to keep pushing forward as I grasp what may seem basic to you, but there is a lot that is new to me. I have been to Italy twice and I like to think there may be a third trip one day. I have a beautiful book about Leonardo da Vinci, by Walater Isaacson. Siete molto gentili ad aiutarmi. ~Ted
