Day 149 of My Italian Learning Journal*

Today I ordered some Montessori Phonetic Reading Blocks for one of my grandsons, and I was thinking about my two adult children and granddaughter, who attended Montessori schools in their early schooling. Having my children in Montessori school was a financial sacrifice and an investment at the same time, an investment in their futures. The Montessori education has paid high dividends. Dr. Maria Montessori was an Italian physician and educator best known for the philosophy of education that bears her name, and her writing on scientific pedagogy -- what an amazing person! The educational methods she developed have benefited children around the world for over 100 years -- my own children included.
