Day 183 of My Italian Learning Journal*
_____________________
So, how many of you use Post-it® notes? I have some stuck all over my computer armoire -- on the inside, that is. Who invented that little paper square that can stick over and over? It began in 1968 with Dr. Spencer Silver, a chemist at 3M Company, who invented a unique, low-tack adhesive. In 1974, Art Fry, a colleague of Dr. Silver's at 3M, was singing in his church choir. He became frustrated when the bookmarks he used to mark his place in his hymnal kept falling out. You guessed it, next came the sticky note. The product was not an immediate success, not until 1980. (Grammar corrections are welcome on the following practice script in Italian.)
