Marine Corps League

Day 182 of My Italian Learning Journal*
_____________________

This evening my wife and I had a light dinner at a Mexican Restaurant near our home. There is a section of the restaurant where a group of men in red coats and caps was standing in prayer. It appears that regular meetings are hosted there for this detachment of former members of the U.S. Marine Corps. One of my brothers was a Marine. Tonight I learned that the Marine Corps League Congressional Charter was approved by the 75th U.S. Congress and signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937. Members of the Marine Corps League join together in fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, (Grammar corrections are welcome for the following practice script in Italian.)
