Day 175 of My Italian Learning Journal*
_____________________
Do you play Scrabble? The game is sold in 121 countries and is available in 29 languages. Do you belong to a Scrabble club? There are around 4,000 Scrabble clubs around the world. How many sets have been sold? 150 million! Would you say Scrabble is a popular game? We have a set and play the game from time to time. It was in 1938 that American architect Alfred Mosher Butts created the game. If you are not familiar with Scrabble, it is a word game in which two to four players score points by placing tiles bearing a single letter onto a board divided into a 15×15 grid of squares and spelling words cross-word style. (Next is a short script in Italian -- I'm learning, so grammar corrections are welcome.)
