Wired vs. Wireless

Ethernet Cable
Day 211 of My Italian Learning Journal*
_____________________

My PC is having WiFi connectivity issues now and then. So I purchased an ethernet cable to isolate the issue. I prefer the wireless setup, but it may be best to connect my PC directly to the modem that is in another room. An ethernet cable is a popular form of network cable used on wired networks. Ethernet cables are utilized to connect devices together within a local area network, like PCs, routers, printers, scanner, and switches. The maximum length of a single CAT5 cable, before a signal loss occurs, is 324 feet, and CAT6 can go up to around 700 feet. My PC’s issue with a drop of the wireless signal may be a software problem. I’ll see what happens now that I have a wired connection to the Internet. (Corrections to my Italian grammar and fluency in my practice script below are welcome.)

Ascolta Questo:
  • Il mio PC occasionalmente perde la sua connessione wireless a Internet. My PC occasionally drops its wireless connection to the Internet.
  • Ho acquistato un cavo Ethernet per eseguire un test. I purchased an ethernet cable to run a test.
  • Dopo aver collegato il mio PC con il cavo Ethernet direttamente al modem controllerò se c'è una qualsiasi perdita di segnale. After I connect my PC with the ethernet cable directly to the modem I will watch for any loss of signal.
