From High School To College

Day 243 of My Italian Learning Journal*

This time of the school year is exciting for many reasons. It is a pleasure to help of graduating students plan for the next step in their lives, that of attending a university or community college. Just this morning I was visiting with one of our students who has been accepted at a state flagship university. He has been preparing for the transition for four years at our high school. Next week our graduating students take their final exams. (Corrections for my practice Italian script below are welcome.)

Ascolta Questo:

• Questo è un momento emozionante per i nostri studenti che si laureeranno in due settimane.
  This an exciting time for our students who will graduate in two weeks.

• Molti di questi studenti hanno già selezionato un'università o un college comunitario.
  Many of these students already have already selected a university or community college.

• Sono sicuro che i loro genitori mancheranno i loro figli e le loro figlie.
  I am sure the that their parents will miss their sons and daughters.

• Ho avuto il privilegio di aver lavorato con la maggior parte di questi studenti negli ultimi quattro anni.
  It has been my privilege to have worked with most of these students for the last four years.
