A Sphinx is Discovered

One of the magazines I subscribe to is about archeology and in this month's issue there was a photo and article about a recent excavation of an Egyptian sphinx. That caught my attention immediately. the funny thing is that a sphinx is one from the 1923 production of the Cecil B. DeMille movie, The Ten Commandments. Reading the article I learned that many of the set objects were buried in the Guadalupe Dunes in southern California to prevent rivals from using it. So much for the "ancient" sphinx I first thought I would read about in the article. Anyway, I for some reason like old silent movies -- I suppose it's my appreciation for the amazing film productions without modern technology.
