Balsamic Onion

A curious thing happened at lunch today. My wife, granddaughter, and I had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants: McAlister's Deli. I ordered a black cherry ham sandwich and tortilla soup. In the sandwich was what looked like onion, but the taste was very different, yet delicious. Curious me, I had to get a menu to see what that veggie was. The great taste was balsamic onion. I'll be ordering that sandwich again.
