The Black Cat

Day 272 of My Italian Learning Journal*

I'm not a cat person myself, however, we have two cats in the house and two more in our patio porch. At her own home, our granddaughter has four indoor cats. On top of that, my wife feeds two stray cats that come to eat on our front porch. "Blackie" is one of the stray cats who has been coming for his free meals for many months, and he was missing for several days. Well, I guess he got hungry and came "home" today. He ate about three times as usual and then walked away for his night of action.

• Mia moglie ha ipotizzato che fosse successo qualcosa a "Blackie".
  My wife speculated that something had happened to "Blackie."

• Immagino che abbia avuto fame perché è venuto a nostra casa per il suo pasto gratis.
  I suppose he got hungry because he came to our house for his free meal.
